I tried to built the deck all around card draw. The more cards you draw the more likely you will have the right cards to combo in your hand at the same time.
I did reach legend Rank 1 with it on April 18th. Just try to fight for board control as much as you can in general. Anything else should be fine then.
Try to draw as many cards as you can while not loosing the board too much the more you draw the more likely you will be able to play your little combos.
Why do you not play It could be good but i never saw a reason to put him in. I think I do not need him as a finisher.
And playing him just as a big guy makes my opponent get more value out of his single target remove cards which he usually does not get against this deck.
I do not need face damage on like turn 4 or in midgame in general. I prefer playing Gnomish there for an extra card draw.
It also is not the best finisher in this deck in late game. My Mana curve is pretty low already.
The card is just too inconsistent in my opinion. Also I do not want to fill up my entire board with Grim Patrons. Because in case of AoE damage I need space for new Patrons to spawn.
In general I think it is always much easier to say what card could be good in a deck than saying what card would I remove for that.
And all the cards I am playing right now are working just fine. Also check out this 2 minute video FailCraft made about the deck. Most likely since it's almost 2 years old.
And it being about 2 years old probably means that the creator doesn't think about it anymore and wont change it. I still have faith in this deck as it resembles something i thought of last night.
It's like a classic handlock where in the late game if defense was needed you would throw down 2 free Molten Giant s and taunt them up with Defender of Argus.
Hey guys, it's been a while since I've last posted a deck, and that's because I had decided to take a short break from HS. Before the yearly rotations kick in, I want to share a few more decks that remind us of the good ol' days.
This deck in particular is a bit chillier than the others, and might remind you of the time when you accidentally drank salty sea water.
Ever since the release of Kobolds and Catacombs control mage archetypes have started to lean towards big spells to tip the tides in their favor through cards like Arcane Artificer, Dragoncaller Alanna and Dragon's Fury.
However, Senfglas' freeze mage relies more on freezing the opponents board while burning them out and out valuing other control decks with Frostlich Jaina.
If you guys are looking for a competitive ladder deck for the current meta, other than the nostalgic freeze mage, make sure to check out zetalot's mindblast priest, and leave an upvote if you enjoyed: As always, Kiwiinbacon has made a great video showcasing the deck's upswing and potential if played correctly.
I highly recommend that you watch the video, as the deck is very difficult to master and having an insight on how to play the deck from someone who plays it well helps a lot!

You should always keep card arcanologist, no matter the match up. Consider keeping Alexstrasza against control if you have a good hand.
Against aggressive and fast-paced decks, you are looking to keep more reactive, early game cards. Against control decks, you are looking for less reactive cards and more card draw.
Always keep arcanologist, as usual; arcane intellect; Frostlich Jaina; acolyte of pain; and skulking geist against priests. You can consider keeping a primordial glyph in the hopes of getting a card draw or more burn, but I prefer not to.
Since this deck does have quite a few legendaries and epics, I'll try to give the best replacements for cards that some of you don't have and may not want to craft.
Firelands Portal, or meteor. In my opinion, Firelands Portal is the best option. Other Tech choices include a second polymorph, which I am also not a fan of due to the same reasons, and an acidic swamp ooze, that has proven as too conditional and inconsistent to take a spot in the deck.
If you are being pressured to much and your opponent has reached out for a final push, you can alex your own face to restore half of your health.
Against control, you should try to preserve as your resources and use them as efficiently as possible, while drawing as many cards as possible.
Since they can't pressure you as much as most aggressive decks, this match up should be very easy to win. The deck is not as strong as it seems to be it's just ok.
Anyone else having a bit a trouble? Different rank tend to be different meta, if you face much dude pally i suggest you play jade druid with oaken summon.
I have been playing freeze mage since season 1 and it never struggled against aggro: If you guys are looking for a fun theorycraft with lots of room for discussion, check out my first ever theorycraft!
